Ryan Brown
Guitar, drums, bass, piano, Dobro, mandolin… Ryan Brown can do it all. His unique style of melodic lead lines brings depth and emotion to every instrumental he orchestrates. Ever searching for a barrier-breaking collaboration of sounds, his mind hums with creative ideas and many late nights are spent recording, mixing, and mastering his music. A child prodigy, Ryan became the drummer for the praise and worship band, Fresh Fire, at the age of five. With Jesus Christ and his drum kit as his roots, Ryan and his family travelled to multiple churches to lead worship not only with the worship team, Fresh Fire, but also with their own band known as Lifeside. As a pre-teen, Ryan decided to learn guitar due to Lifeside’s need for a lead guitarist and he soon filled that role. This new skill inspired Ryan to begin composing his own music. At the age of fourteen, he officially wrote and recorded his first instrumental, “Heart Cry”, which became his signature at live events. This powerful composition also became known as a call to worship. By the age of sixteen, Ryan released his first full album of eight instrumentals. He entitled the project, Inside Out, to convey what Christ was doing in his life. Ryan and the rest of Lifeside were soon given multiple opportunities to lead worship on live television. Over the next five years, the band, Lifeside, morphed into the Christian rock band, Age of Mercy. Ryan remained the lead guitarist but also took on the roles of producer, music composer, and band director. Today, Ryan continues to lead worship with Age of Mercy and create powerful and provoking instrumentals that further express his faith. He is currently working on a new album entitled, Heart Cry, which utilizes new skills and sounds while reminding himself and his audience where he began. His main focus is to spread the Gospel through every note he plays as the Lord guides his hands and his heart.
